After art training at the Johannesburg
School of Art in the late 1960’s Carol started her working
life as a textile designer. She went on to support herself
through the design and embroidering of clothes and patchwork.
Her background in textiles inspired her
to create cloth collages which were framed under glass. She
developed this style throughout the 1970's and in 1979 held
a one man show at Gallery International in Cape Town.
the 1980's and 1990's she started painting with acrylics on
board, varnished to give an enameled appearance.
She also paints on glass in the reverse.
The work portrays
everyday life influenced by the countryside of the Overberg
and the city of Cape Town.

For the past 18 years Carol has
held annual exhibitions at The Penny Dobbie Gallery in Cape
Town. The work has been exhibited in The Irma Stern Museum,
the Josephine Mill and the Table Mountain Exhibition “Hoerikwaggo”
National Gallery. Work has appeared in local and international
